Creativity Comes from Within

I chose the words, “Creativity Comes from Within” because it accurately represents the overall theme of my piece. Originally, I was inspired by the quote, “Monsters don't sleep under your bed they live inside you head”. I wanted to both visually capture that quote while expressing my own art style. I tend to draw inspiration from everything around me, which I feel makes art so fun. I love to concept and sketch out ideas as it draws my own creativity out. In retrospect to my piece, my canvas includes a portrait of an emotional girl with her ideas of creativity and wonder releasing out from her eyes. Her notions are represented by the ghosts and spirits that haunt her mind, and twist her perspective of reality. I feel that the creatures, assisted with the other sporadic designs, really pull together the theme I wanted to create. The dark lines and various designs attract attention to the spirits as I wanted that to be the focal point of the piece. I wanted to evoke thought from people, just as the quote did for me.
