Pioneer High School

Art has been a big part of my life ever since I was young. I remember I saw this artist painting a mural down the street from my house with so many colors, from there on I knew I wanted to start doing art. I always had a great passion for art because it lets me have a voice and I can be free. In school there wasn't an art class for me until I got to high school, Jennifer Marquez is the person who has taught me many new things about it that has helped me improve my skills and I am grateful for that.

Street Art is what really catches my eye because it's probably the most exciting thing to do and many things can go wrong, the adrenaline rush. The material I enjoy using would be spray paint, acrylic paint, markers, wheat paste and stickers. There are times I don't really plan on what I am going to paint, but whatever I picture in my head I will be free and start to paint it however it pleases me. I feel that the more you try and plan out what to do, it most likely won't come out how you want it so I just do what I want.

My art work has changed a lot since I was younger because I couldn't really draw as good and I cared how people seen my work, but I finally realized that who cares what people think and do what pleases you. I try and challenge myself by painting things that are hard for me to do such portraits and canvas paint brushing. I don't paint to please people it is more of a get away from reality and forgetting everyone and everything.
