I decided to write “Free Your Mind” on my canvas because we live in a world where are cannot be expressed on the walls of the streets legally. Working with this canvas made me feel I was going to be able to express everything that came to my mind with no one judging me. This is important because I truly believe that art has no rules to follow. I chose my character to be a mad zombie because he represents the way I feel about people that say that art is vandalism. I saw a photograph picture of a man with his face painted and I decided to make it into a drawing. I drew birds being free from the zombie's mouth as a representation of finally being able to express your imagination and thoughts. This was a good chance to express my talent and in some ways express my feelings and thoughts without saying a word. The lettering and the birds were part of my own imagination. As an artist, I would feel totally accomplished if my piece brings joy and makes my audience feels open minded to a world where art is good for society. I have been drawing since I was 8 years old. Even at that early age I started to develop a passion for the shapes, colors, ad things related to art. I also started to have an appreciation of the artwork from other people; I stared to create my own. I enjoy doing art because it keeps me out of trouble, and also because I would not mind spending my whole time doing a piece because I would never get bored of it. Painting or drawing brings excitement to my life. It makes me stress free; when I paint I feel like nothing matters other than my piece. I have a dream to one day see my design in important places of Los Angeles and around the world. I will work hard and I will never give up to achieve this goal.
